Feeling Not Enough and Yet Longing to Be Seen. How Does That Work for You?

In the experiential session we will reflect on how our sense of worthiness interacts with our longing to be seen. This is a topic that is often hidden, deep inside oneself. It can show up for us as well as for the leaders we work with in our consulting or coaching practices.  For this session we will start with ourselves.

Our longing to be seen is an innate need that needs to be nourished to feel whole. It interplays with our need for safety, dignity and belonging. Growing up we all have interpreted the world from the perspective of those needs. And our wise self has subconsciously found a way to feel safe. This process is part of the shaping of who we are today. And some of these habitual ways may no longer serve us.

Furthermore, if our habits are how we show up in the world we long to be seen and appreciated. It becomes a bit complicated to be seen for something that is a protective shield. We may show up in a way that we think is expected of us. Usually this is a huge energy drain. Empathy and compassion for self will allow us to shift.

Come as you are and let us explore:

  • What habitual ways have you developed to feel seen?
  • How do you know those habits are activated?
  • How can you turn this around?
  • How do you connect to your worthiness?
  • What do you long for?
