Inclusive Facilitation for White Professionals: Bringing Your Best Self to Your Work

Virtual

As a good facilitator, you've developed professional habits that make designing and implementing events and meetings easier and the best quality possible.  In this session, we'll be exploring these habits through the lens of the current learning on diversity, equity, inclusion, and access.   This session has both personal and technical foci.  It includes small group exploration and specific tips in areas such as planning, tone-setting, meeting norms, language, participation, managing disagreements, and feedback.    Handouts included.

Presenter:  Sharon Rudy

Sharon Rudy has spent the last 30+ years as a global health leader, overseeing training, human performance improvement, and professional development programs in various countries.     This session's content comes from her participation in a six-month DEIA program, a part of the two-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program run by Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield.   Dr. Rudy holds three advanced degrees, including a Ph.D. in Counseling and Organizational Consulting.   She now runs her own company, TeamRudy, implementing global health career coaching and consulting.  However, that may be on hold for some time as she participated in the recent, successful bid as the Deputy Director of USAID's GHTASC Project, USAID's flagship global health staffing and professional development contract.
