Topic: “Daring Greatly with Vulnerability and Values”

This quote by Teddy Roosevelt is the cornerstone of Brené Brown's work on daring leadership, and in her best-selling book, Dare to Lead, she inspires and challenges us to be daring leaders as we move into our uncharted next chapter! 

The October Coaching Community of Practice meeting will provide an overview of the four “daring” leadership skills that are at the foundation of Dr. Brown’s book and her companion curriculum. These skills include Rumbling with Vulnerability, Living our Values, Braving Trust, and Learning to Rise. Through breakouts, participants will consider their own "vulnerability rumble" and what a "call to courage" means to them as leaders in life and work. They will also have an opportunity to reflect on their values and how "integrity" supports bravery in the workplace.

Presenter:  Mimi Darmstadter M.A., PCC

Mimi is an executive coach and a seasoned leader in the Human Resources field (e.g. learning and performance). In her executive coaching activities, she emphasizes new levels of self-awareness, skill, and behavior to build capacity and satisfaction at work and/or make desired shifts in one’s professional identity and effectiveness. She relies on behavior change models – such as Immunity to Change – to support her client’s change goals. 

In 2019, Mimi, among 1200 individuals globally, received her facilitation credential for Brené Brown’s Dare to LeadTM Program. She holds two Bachelor’s Degrees in Psychology/Creative Writing from the University of Michigan and an MSW from the University of Chicago. Mimi completed Georgetown University’s Leadership Coaching Program and is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through The International Coach Federation.
