Building the Future of OD, Starting with Us

"What world do we want to create together and what is the future of OD in the DMV and the world?" Join us for this highly interactive conversation to help position CBODN and ourselves for the future of work and organizations. Then, learn the OD dreams, vision, essence, and values for the future of the field developed by the almost three hundred people who participated in "From the Founders to the Future: A Gathering to Build OD for Tomorrow's World," and make your commitment to building the future of OD together. In OD, we suffer from the vices of our virtues. We are so committed to hugging the trees in our field that we are not noticing that our forest is thinning. The very things that make us good at what we do are also the things that undermine our success, both in our businesses and in the world. We'll talk about the dualities that challenge us. We need to get serious about the business of business -- our clients' and our own. We need to acknowledge that in many ways, our clients are smarter and better than we are. We need to radically change our thinking about OD and HR. And we need to finally admit that the words "organization development" mean much more to us than to our client organizations, and to finally use language that our clients recognize.
