Topic: You've Hired a Graphic Recorder, Now What?  The Why, What, How, and When of Partnering with a Graphic Recorder

Description:  The evidence is in.  Using visuals in a meeting boosts engagement and increases retention.  But what does it mean to ‘use visuals?’  You are ready to hire someone whether they call themselves a graphic recorder, scribe or cartoonist, but how can you best use them? What are the types and levels of scribing?  More importantly, what are the choices that are made when someone is drawing on the walls.

Presenter:  Matteo Becchi and Barb Siegel

Matteo Becchi is an Organization Development (OD) consultant, a Graphic Recorder/Graphic Facilitator (aka: a Visual Practitioner), and an IT Project Management Professional (PMP, CSM) with over twenty years of professional experience in both the private sector, as well as government and higher education markets. He is passionate about helping people, groups and organizations improve the way they live and work. Currently, Matteo fulfills his passion as a Senior Consultant with The Clearing, a boutique consulting firm located in Dupont Circle, Washington DC, where he believes in, inspires, and outfits people to lead meaningful lives, and to make extraordinary contributions to causes that matter.  He received his Master’s in Organization Development from American University.

Barb Siegel is a visual practitioner helping people think.  When Barb draws clients see what is said and not yet said. Integrating experience in education (neurocognition, arts integration, special education), architecture  (Registered Architect) and fine art (award winning and collected internationally) Barb helps people recognize verbal and non-verbal information shared in groups. A founder of The Awarefulness Project and board member of The Plexus Institute, Barb brings a capacity for complexity thinking to all projects.
