Topic: The Case for OD Partnership During Executive Transitions

Facilitator: Katherine Farquhar  Ph.D.

Program:

“A system is never so vulnerable, yet never so ready to hope, as during an executive transition”

Top tier leadership transitions are marquee events in organization life.  A leader’s departure and the newcomer’s arrival evoke emotions, aspirations, conflicts, history, and possible futures. A system is rarely so open to public scrutiny as at this time of pivotal choices and actions.

In this session, we focus on how an OD practitioner can add value and perspective during such transitions.  You will examine a model of human dynamics and generic leverage points in executive transitions. You will work on a brief case to apply this model, and test-drive strategies for bringing OD support. You will leave the evening with new lenses on how OD can help organization members and stakeholders reach a firmer platform for success in these transitions.
